These FAQs relate to quiz nights hosted and organised by PBHR. Please refer to other charity organisers for specifc terms and conditions for their events.

When are the Quiz Nights ? Quiz nights are usually on Mondays, when the restaurant is normally closed. PBHR hosts 3 quizzes per year raising funds for itself. Other organisations run similar events throughout the year with PBHR providing the quiz materials and quiz host. Where PBHR recieve a donation for providing a quiz this will be shown on the events calendar.

What food is served? Poppadoms and pickle tray, mixed starter and a selection of curries with rice and naan bread.

Can I request an alternative meal? The regular menu isn’t available on quiz nights, however, please let us know if you have any specific allergies or special dietary requirements before booking.

Do you cater for Vegetarians? Yes, please let us know at time of booking.

Is there an English Meal option? Yes, there is an alternative English meal, but please contact us prior to booking to ensure we can cater for you.

How much are the tickets? PBHR events are charged at £20 per head, which includes a delicious meal and entry to the quiz. Other charities may charge differently.

Where can I buy tickets? Tickets for our quiz nights can only be purchased directly at the Spice Lounge or via our website. Please do not purchase tickets from any other source as we have seen cases of scammers claiming to have tickets for sale.

What format is the quiz? The quiz consists of a picture round on the table. Throughout the evening there are a series of other rounds. There is always a general knowledge and music round and a two mystery rounds in between.

Is there a prize? Yes, the winning team will be given a voucher to return to the Spice Lounge for a meal at their leisure. The value of the voucher will depend on the size of the team.

Do you run a raffle? Most quiz nights have a raffle and a game of heads or tails. These are optional and not included in your ticket price.

If we book separately can we sit together? Of course, we’d be delighted to seat groups of friends together, please let us know at the time of booking who you’d like to sit with.

I can’t make it, can I have a refund? Tickets are non refundable as we need to pay for all food booked, however, if you can’t make it, please contact us and we’ll transfer your ticket to a future event, free of charge.

Can I win free tickets for the quiz? Sometimes we run a competition to give away a pair of free tickets to the next quiz. Check our competitions page for more details.
