VE Day Broadcast

On Thursday 8th May 2025, PBHR will be broadcasting live from the Chimneys restaurant in Bishop Auckland to celebrate VE Day.  The programme starts at midday with Dennis Duncan, Fred Aitken and David Childs. We’ll be covering the festivities which are taking place in the Chimneys as well as playing music and chatting to patients about their memories from the period. Vintage vocalist Tessa Smith will be performing live.

If you’re in or around Bishop Auckland Hospital on Thursday 8th May, pop down to the Chimneys restaurant between 12pm and 2pm, or listen to the whole thing live on PBHR.

From 2pm, Richard Smith will be presenting a special edition of the A to Z of Pop .
